    Artikel ini membahas tentang prototipe program true type fonts aksara lontarak dan pengintegrasiannya dengan program multimedia interaktif untuk pembelajaran bahasa daerah di Sulawesi Selatan. Prototipe yang dimaksud adalah pengembangan angka dan diakritik dalam Aksara Lontarak yang dapat digunakan pada komputer berbasis operating sistem windows (untuk operating system lainnya seperti macintos dan opensource serta android, masih dalam penelitian dan pengembangan). Secara khusus, karakter ini dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam bentuk program elektronik yang dapat dijalankan pada pengolah kata khusus pada windows dan yang berbasis hypertext. Selain itu, karakter ini juga dapat dijalankan pada program interaktif lainnya yang berbasis http atau berbasis web. Program yang digunakan dalam membuat dan merevitalisasi karakter Lontarak tersebut adalah program FontMonger. Hasilnya pengembangan angka dan diakritik tersebut adalah tersedia file dalam bentuk font.ttf yang diberi nama Lontara Yusring. Prototipe karakter Lontara Yusring ini sekaligus akan didemokan di hadapan peserta seminar bagaimana karakter ini diintegrasikan dengan program interaktif lainnya yang berbasis http. Dengan demikian, inovasi karakter ini diharapkan menarik generasi muda, khususnya anak sekolah tingkat SD dan SMP serta yang sederajat dalam mempelajari aksara lontara yang didukung dengan teknologi pembelajaran interaktif

    Berbagai terminologi sering digunakan untuk mengungkapkan penggunaan komputer dalam pembelajaran, khususnya pembelajaran bahasa. Masing-masing terminologi memiliki arti berbeda. Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) adalah terminologi umum untuk segala pembelajaran yang menggunakan komputer. Jenis penggunanaan komputer dalam lingkup CAL (Brown, 2006) dapat dibagi atas tiga jenis, yaitu (1) komputer sebagai alat, misalnya word processor dan spreadsheet; (2) pembelajar mengajar atau memberi perintah kepada komputer dengan menggunakan sederetan perintah menggunakan bahasa pemograman, misalnya LOGO; dan (3) komputer berfungsi sebagai alat yang memberi instruksi dan materi pelajaran (Baso, 2006). Jenis ketiga tersebut saat ini lebih populer dengan istilah Computer Based Instruction (CBI) atau Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI)

    EFEKTIVITAS FORMAL INSTRUCTION DALAM PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MAHASISWA MELAFALKAN FONEM-FONEM FRIKATIF BAHASA ARAB

    The present study examines the effect of formal instruction in order to improve the skill\ud of students of Hasanuddin University in the pronunciation of Arabic. Formal instruction\ud presenting the learners with minimal pairs of selected Arabic phonemes and then giving\ud them practice in how to pronounce these phonemes in sentences. Nineteen participants\ud took part in this study; they are students of department Western Asian Languages,\ud Faculty of Arts, Hasanuddin University. Nine of them (seven females and two males and\ud their ages are between 20 to 22 years old) received formal instruction in ten days and the\ud other nine (eight females and one male in which their ages are similarly to the first\ud group) did not received formal instruction. The last subject was bilingual (Arabic-\ud Indonesian) and became a control group in this study, representing native speaker\ud ability. Pre-course and post course recording of the production task were analyzed using\ud Microsoft Excel. Results revealed a significant effect in that subjects who received\ud formal instruction and for period of time performed or produced better pronunciation of\ud Arabic than subjects who did not receive any formal instruction

    Revolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has changed the various areas of human life, including the revolution in education. Revolution of education occurs since people migrate their way of learning from conventional to digital learning, face-to-face at a certain time and place into a meeting from anywhere and anytime. In the past we used paper, now we already headed to paperless era. Several years ago, teachers and lecturers is the source of knowledge, it is the source of knowledge can be through a variety of media, such as CD-ROMs and the Internet. The way we learn is change to distant learning with free study hour. Then, it results the term e-learning, knowledge server and knowledge based society. This article discusses how to prepare simple e-learning material (web and cd-based) about Bahasa Indonesian. The program that employs to elaborate and modify the material is Hot Potatoes which is published by the University of Victoria and the Half-Baked Software. The material of Bahasa Indonesian use in this program is a set of questions on National Examination for Selection Admissions (SPMB). These questions will create an interactive multimedia material, especially web-based and CD-based material. Modules that are discussed in this article including input of data (questions, answers, etc.), output configuration (modification of the display and apperance), as well as techniques to publish on the website. In addition, it will also discuss how to keep the material in the web and cd. The final result (output) or material output from this program is the material that can be used as in learning Bahasa Indonesian, especially for self training and test.     This study describes the influence of Islam and Arabic on the Makassarese language. The method used in this study is library research. Various literatures were collected to obtain data and facts. These data are collected, sorted and selected and then analyzed to answer two primary issues, namely the influence of Islam and the influence of Arabic on the Makassarese language. The results of the study showed that the Islamic religion influenced the contents of poetry and song in the Makassarese language. The vocabulary from Arabic absorbed into the Makassar language experiences several typologies, including vocabulary absorption and vocabulary enrichment in the Makassarese language. This word absorption from Arabic also includes sound adjustments in Makassarese language. In addition to that, there are words found in Arabic words whose meaning absorbed in Makassarese language not in terms of morpholigical absorption but semantical absorption

    The aim of this paper is to show the development of number and marking of Lontara’s script. The development is to provide and make a specific and additional marking character of Lontara. Those characters developed furthermore in the form of electronically program that able to be run at word office, both under windows and opensource (linux). The program used in making of Lontara’s number and its additional marking character is Fontmonger program. The obtained result of this development is a file program that available to be run properly either at word office or opensource and the file is called ltrunhas.ttf

    Workshop Penggunaan Media Interaktif Pembelajaran Terkini Bagi Para Guru Ppmi Shohwatul Isad

    This activity is intended to share learning methods, specifically the use of interactive learning media. Some of the activities have been carried out at the first visit of the Arabic Literature study program team represented by Yusring Sanusi B to PPMI Shohwatul Is'ad. During this visit the activities that will be carried out at this workshop are discussed. Furthermore, a subsequent visit was conducted in a workshop for teachers PPMI Shohwatul Isad. The last visit was attended by all team members and students. During this last visit, there was a material change. The teachers asked to be given learning techniques with paper media. It is hoped that this learning model can be adapted creatively by the teachers of PPMI Shohwatul Is'ad. This activity has been recorded in order to be seen and watched at anytime in how to engage students in the classroom with minimal media. Although this last activity is not related to computer technology, it does not reduce the main purpose of this service. The final visit was only verification of the CD that have been made by the teachers. The results of this service are interactive exercise CDs prepared by teachers, expecially for English, Indonesian, Mathematics, Biology and Physics
